What services do dermatologists offer?
Dermatologists provide three main categories of care: Medical dermatology focuses on diagnosing and treating skin diseases and conditions like acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer. Surgical dermatology includes the many procedures performed on the skin, such as excisions. Cosmetic dermatology offers anti-aging treatments including Botox, dermal fillers, and other aesthetic procedures.
What’s the difference between medical and cosmetic dermatology?
Medical dermatology focuses on diagnosing and treating skin diseases and conditions that affect your health. These services are often covered by insurance. Cosmetic dermatology enhances your appearance and addresses aesthetic concerns like wrinkles, volume loss, and skin texture.
What dermatology services are covered by insurance?
Most medical dermatology services are covered by insurance, including treatment for acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer screenings, and removal of suspicious lesions. Cosmetic procedures like Botox and dermal fillers are typically not covered by insurance. Our team can verify your specific coverage before your appointment.
Do I need a referral for dermatology services?
Referral requirements vary by insurance plan. Many patients can schedule directly without a referral, while some insurance plans require one from your primary care doctor. Our patient service team can help verify your insurance requirements when you call to schedule.
What’s included in DermCARE Club membership?
DermCARE Club membership costs $350 annually and includes over $500 in value: choice of microneedling, Glass Facial, or chemical peel; free skin tag treatment; phototherapy sessions; plus ongoing discounts of 10% off Botox, $50 off fillers, and savings on other services.
Can I get medical and cosmetic treatments at the same visit?
Yes! Let us know when you are scheduling your appointment and we can arrange for both types of services on the same day. Call us to see what options are available.
What esthetician services are available?
Our licensed estheticians provide customized facials, HydroFacials, VI chemical peels, microneedling, laser hair removal, and dermaplaning. We also offer permanent makeup services including microblading, eyeliner, and lip enhancement. All services are performed in our clinical environment with a relaxing spa like environment.
What insurance plans do you accept?
We accept most commercial insurance plans, Medicare and most Medicare Advantage/Replacement plans for medical dermatology services. We are not currently accepting Medicaid. Cosmetic procedures are typically not covered by insurance. Please call our office to find out if we are in network with your plan.

What age patients do you treat?
We treat patients of all ages, from infancy to elderly, and every stage in between. Our team has experience with age-specific skin concerns and treatments for every generation.
Do you offer financing options?
Yes, we offer financing options to make your treatments more affordable. Ask our patient coordinator about available options.

How to Join DermCARE Club?

How long does my membership last?
Your DermCARE Club membership is valid for one year from your enrollment date. You’ll receive renewal notification before your membership expires.
Can I share my membership benefits with family members?
Membership benefits are non-transferable and for the member’s use only. However, family members are welcome to purchase their own memberships to enjoy the same exceptional savings.
When can I use my included treatments?
You can schedule your included treatments anytime during your membership year. Many members spread them throughout the year for ongoing maintenance, while others use them for special occasions or seasonal skin refresh.
Do my member discounts apply to medical dermatology services?
Member discounts apply to cosmetic dermatology and esthetician services. Medical dermatology services are typically covered by insurance and follow standard medical pricing.
What happens if I don’t use all my benefits?
We encourage members to take full advantage of all included benefits and discounts throughout the year. Unused benefits do not roll over to the following membership year, so we recommend scheduling treatments regularly to maximize your investment.
Can I purchase additional memberships for family members?
Absolutely! Many Louisville families have multiple DermCARE Club memberships. Contact our office to enroll additional family members at the same exceptional value.
